I got a phone call saying they have seen some in Taiwan trying to access / hack my e-mail. They wanted to fix the problem but I think that they are phishing.

Got a call from someone sounding asian saying that someone from Taiwan is trying to access / hack my e-mail. I think that they are phishing. I won't allow her to access my e-mail to supposedly fix a problem. It would seem that mozilla / thunderbird would know if there is any issues.

Generally speaking you should never let anyone access your computer or mail. Especially if they contact you uninvited and say they dectected a problem with your mail or your computer.

Thunderbird is email client software running on your computer and not your email provider. It is more than likely a scam but you can check with your provider.
