Thunderbird keeps asking if I want to compact folders - same size each time

Hi,

I repeatedly get the same message about compacting folders:

Do you wish to compact all local and offline folders to save disk space? This will save about 6.4 GB.

It always remains the same size, and will prompt me every time I restart Thunderbird, despite my choosing "Compact Now" every time.

Any thoughts on how I can fix this please?

cheers

David
