how do i disable background videos?

I do not want videos too play when I exit Firefox. In fact, I want exiting Firefox to explicitly be one of the ways to stop playing videos.

Unfortunately, videos continue playing when I exit. I either have to force stop or restart Firefox and find the tab where the video is still running and manually kill it.

Are there any configuration options or extensions that would disable Firefox' "play video in background" behavior?
