Can someone help me relink to my AOL email accounts as they say the old connections will fail in ten days?

AOL say "Just a reminder that your AOL Mail account needs your attention before 20 October 2020. Security is incredibly important to us, and in order to keep your account safe we're requiring an updated secure sign-in when accessing your account from unofficial or non-Yahoo apps. "

I have set up a new account as per the Thunderbird site sheet. It will not pick up my AOL mail.

Can someone who has made it work talk me through the system please.

I did get taken to a Yahoo page once I had my new account set up. It said it would send me an eight letter password - but it did not come to my new account.

All help welcome, please

right click the account in the folder pane, select settings.

Change the authentication method to oAuth2.0 do the same to outgoing servers (SMTP).

All done.

Brilliant Matt,

It is a shame the assorted help pages don't make it sound so easy.

Many thanks

Tony
