Phone Number Reformatting in Autofill

Firefox is adding +1 before 7-digit phone numbers. There are two things wrong with this. The + sign is only appropriate for cell phones and some websites will not accept phone numbers with the prefix as valid. When will this be fixed?

You are missing the point. Firefox should respect what I enter and not reformat it. See the original post and try to answer the question. No link should be required.

The question was "When will this be fixed?". There is nothing to link to. The problem occurs when editing auto-fill in settings. Firefox reformats phone numbers. This has nothing to do with any website.

I have this same problem and my phone system chokes on the +1. Unless you are using a very, very old phone system in the US the 1 is no longer used.
