About Firefox tells me there are updates available...but they do not load. All I get is "Waiting for stase.webtrendslive.com..." and nothing happens, not even after I restart my computer (Apple iMac).

About Firefox tells me there are updates available...but they do not load. All I get is "Waiting for stase.webtrendslive.com..." and nothing happens, not even after I restart my computer (Apple iMac). About Firefox says I have version 5.0... is this the latest version? If so why does it say there are updates available?

It would be helpful if there was confirmation that the version of Firefox that I have is the most recent edition.

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

  • Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
  • Install the new version that you have downloaded
