Firefox freezes while running, minimizing and maximising solves the problem temporarily, but it freezes again after a few seconds. Any solutions?
Firefox seems to be running fine, but it seems that only the display freezes. On minimizing/maximizing the window I can see the result of any clicks made during the frozen period as well.

Try the following:
Update Firefox: Update Firefox to the latest release
Update Windows Fully: windowsupdate.microsoft.com
Upgrade your Graphics Driver: Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL
Update your Plugins: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
Scan for Malware: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware
And finally, Reset Firefox: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
@Tylerdowner Thanks! But I had already tried the above except for updating the graphics driver (I have no idea how to), the problem still persists. I think the problem had started when I installed a third party software (Download Accelerator Plus) with firefox. I subsequently deleted that software but still the problem continues.
Any other ideas?
Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
Firefox works great in the safe mode (with Networking). Does this mean that the problem lies with the devices or software which were disabled in the safe mode? How should I proceed?
