anyone know how to solve this?

which OS you are using? Before reinstalling remove firefox program folder http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox download and make a clean reinstall of firefox http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html

Windows 7, and thanks, removing the program folder fixed the issue,.
