How do I delete ALL "top sites" from my Android browser with one command?

The "remove" command (after long-tapping) only deletes one site at a time. "Clearing private data" removes everything *except* top sites. What other solution exists, and why on earth can't this be included with the "clear private data" command?

You cannot remove it, according to your surf, the top sites keep updating. But you can make it as empty page.

  1. Goto TOP SITES > Hold on the Website Thumbnail >PIN IT
  2. Goto TOP SITES > Hold on the Website Thumbnail >Get the list of Options "Choose EDIT" > Remove the URL > it become User-entered.

This is a painstaking procedure to clear those top sites out. I found out the hard way after syncing with my computer and importing a few years of accumulated bookmarks. Which really didn't organize the way they did on the computer.

First, do the pin procedure as described above. Now comes the fun part. Any bookmarks after those 6 top sites have to be removed. Start at the bottom. Do a long press and remove. One by one. Don't wear a groove in one place. Remove until you have just those 6 user entered sites. Go to settings/privacy and clear it. Close and reopen. Then starting at the bottom long press the top sites and unpin. It should then say add a site.

If you made the mistake I did it is easier to uninstall and reinstall. Then you just have a few from the default to get rid of. There are apps like Cleanmaster that will back up your apps. Be advised if you synced folders with your bookmarks you are going to be stuck with them. Go the uninstall and reinstall route.

Evidently anything in a history or bookmark queue will fill them in when unpinned. You have to clear those all out out first. Maybe a mozilla man can give us a shortcut.
