How do I contact Firefox to ask a question (my problem hasn't been solved by posting it)?

I'm having a problem with the Password Manager, and I posted the question on the support site, but I only received one response and it didn't solve the problem. This is the problem:

Just recently, I updated from Firefox 26 to Firefox 27. After updating, the saved passwords/log-ins function ceased functioning. When I go to websites that I frequent, like eBay, the login page used to load with my username and password populated in the appropriate fields. Now none of these sites will load the login info. Even on new websites, FF will ask me if I want to "Remember Password", and when I click on "Remember Password" and then return to the site later, it won't populate the login info.

maxryden,

Sorry that response didn't answer your question. But remember, that everyone who replies on this forum are volunteers (including me) and Firefox users just like you. That, being said, all of the volunteers are in different time zones and have personal matters to attend to besides contributing. Just be patient :) Also, Mozilla doesn't have a technical support line so that's why there's us.

One thing to your problem is that there might something wrong with the Password Manager. Click Firefox on your top menu bar > Preferences > Security > make sure Remember passwords for sites is checked. To the right of that, click Exceptions, make sure the site you are trying to log in to isn't in the list. If it is, click Remove Click Close, then OK. And try to log in again.

Another thing to know is that you might be in permanent Private Browsing Mode. Click Firefox on your top menu bar, then click Preferences > Privacy > If Firefox will: is set to Use custom settings for history, make sure Always use private browsing mode is not selected. If it is, uncheck it and restart Firefox.

One more thing to try: Firefox is probably clearing your passwords automatically when it's closed.

  • Click Firefox on the top menu bar > Preferences > Privacy > If Firefox will: is set to Use custom settings for history and Clear history when Firefox closes is selected, click on the Settings… button. Make sure that Saved Passwords is not selected. Click OK to close the Options window .

It is possible that there is a problem with the key3.db and signons.sqlite files that store the encrypted names and passwords in Firefox.
Rename the key3.db and signons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder.
You can add .old to the file names (key3.db.old and signons.sqlite.old) or move them to another folder to make it possible to undo the action.
You need to set a new Master Password after renaming or deleting key3.db and all currently saved passwords are lost.
If that has worked then you can remove the renamed files that are no longer needed.
Otherwise you can rename the files to their previous names (signons.sqlite and key3.db).

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Director: Show Folder (Linux: Open Director; Mac: Show in Finder)

I understand that everybody here is a volunteer, but my problem is that, after none of the solutions to my problem worked, I STILL couldn't get here to ask my question and try to get a fix. I feel like I'm totally in limbo now, and don't know how to proceed.

My problem is that since I recently did a reformat on my pc, photos and pictures don't print out when I print a website page. All I get is some colored lines instead of the pix. I tried all the fixes recommended, but am not certain I did everything right. When I'd explain the problems at the end of each suggestion, all it would do is take what I wrote and give me no further help. Please tell me where to go, how to get there, and what to do once I get there. Thank you!

I was so confused for a second. Then I looked at the username of both you and the OP and realized they weren't the same.

Lisbeth, you asked two questions at the forum and they were both marked as solved by you.

You need to open up a new thread for your own specific problem as you're technically hijacking a previous user's thread that has absolutely no resemblance to yours. Opening a new thread will give us your system configuration.

Please start a new thread at /questions/new

Thanks!
