New tab page search through input field
The default Chrome new-tab page ( http://i.imgur.com/RTvdGze.png ) has a search field, that when typed into, enters text directly into the url bar, allowing you to type mozilla.org ect and having it take you direct to the web page instead of just searching it. Firefox, however, doesn't do this and just searches any querys directly through the search engine.
Is it possible for to make a firefox new-tab page that works like the chrome one? Preferably, I want my new-tab page to only send data to the url bar when I've pressed the enter key, but it doesn't really matter.

I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.
Apologies if this sounds silly, but... when you launch a new tab (Ctrl+t for example), the cursor is in the address bar by default, so you do not need to click into the search box in the page to type in the address bar.
Anyway, I think you would need an add-on to change the behavior of the search box in the page.

Yeah, I know. I was thinking more on the side of fanciness than practicality, however. I mean, the default new-tab page doesn't need a search box either, but it would look wierd without one.
This one might work: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/fire.../custom-new-tab/, however please feel free to check out others at addons.mozilla.org.

Thanks, but I've already got it set up to load a custom html file in about:config.
