Login to server imap.gmail.com failed. mail server password required enter your password for martin.thorp@ucd.ie@imap.gmail.com.

When I enter my password it is not accepted.

In the Tools >Account settings the baxo shows server name as imap.gmail.com the username shows martin.thorp@ucd.ie

I have been using without problem thunderbird for 10 plus years as my front end to my university email system. Due to a hacking event on 22 May my email was blocked by the university server and I had to change my university mail access password. Now Thunderbird cant access the university mail server.

Can you help please.

that is not a valid email address, so can you post the following as images.

  • Image 1 : Tools > Account Settings for the mail account
  • Image 2: In left pane click on 'Server Settings' for mail account
  • Image 3: In left pane Click on 'Outgoing Server (SMTP) and select the smtp server you are using, so it displays Description, server name etc.
