It uses autocomplete="off" to prevent the user from saving their username / password in Firefox. That is a security feature which some websites use; Firefox respects that command.

This extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/saved-password-editor/ - can be used to get around webpages like that, by allowing you to manually save your username / password inside the Firefox Password Manager.

Make sure you read About this Add-on number 5 on that add-on download page - about how to login to websites which use that command in their login webpage,

The presence of autocomplete=off shouldn't have effect.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).

  • Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"

Make sure that you do not have a block exception.

  • Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: Exceptions

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
