With the current version of Firefox for Android I'm unable to switch the tab when playing a Youtube video without the playback being stopped. Also, playback is now stopped when switching to a different app or enabling lock screen.

I'd appreciate if one of you could let me know …

a) … what was changed in Firefox to Android that this is no longer possible?

b) … how can I restore the previous behavior?

Thanks for your help

This seems to be a change on the mobile YouTube site. A user in the following thread suggested the workaround of using Request Desktop Site:

https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/62t0ar/firefox_android_youtube_doesnt_play_in_background/

Does that work on yours? Can you find an alternate workaround anywhere?
