Hi nonstop, does this problem occur on all sites, or does it vary among sites? For example, does it work on this page?

Hi Thehelper, the goal is to save the displayed text of the page, not the HTML. You could save using both methods and compare the results.

I've tried it on a number of sites with the same result.

Agreed I could rename .html to .txt but shouldn't selecting the .txt option save a file with a .txt extension?

Guess I'll have to carry on using IE if I want to save anything, but it's so slow by comparison.

Only other choice is to install something like Adobe Acrobat that can save the html page as a pdf should you need to click those links. But I think it can save as txt not sure but I have to check on that.

The built-in feature should work. I don't know why it doesn't.

Firefox 66 is scheduled for release next week, so hopefully that will take care of it.
