Hi! I'm desperate and in need of help and at first I had a problem that many people seemed to have. I have the latest version and when I start firefox it opens 6 other processes and when I open another windows it opens another process. Now where my problem differs from others is that I've tried the fix that you guys proposed and I've changed the value of browser.tabs.remote.autostart to false quit "about:config" closed firefox and restarted it again....same thing. Now after that, I've read that for the version I have I had to do this but with browser.tabs.remote.autostart2 instead. So I opened about:config and changed it to false, quit about:config, restarted it...same thing. I have tried everything, I've even put both of them on "false"...still nothing, any help would be appreciated...thanks.

Note : I've uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, tried everything again and it still doesn't work and now browser.tabs.remote.autostart2 is gone, there's only browser.tabs.remote.autostart

In Firefox 60 [58-67] versions browser.tabs.remote.autostart should still work. In Firefox 68 and later the pref is no longer supported and you can only disable multi-process by setting an environment variable (MOZ_FORCE_DISABLE_E10S=1). This environment variable also works in older Firefox versions.

You can check the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page for the curent status.

Do you ever read and follow the advice which is offered in your questions threads?

Nothing but inane comments it seems. If you want to complain about Firefox, how about doing that in a more appropriate place?

Such as using the Feedback page here - https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/FirefoxInput/ - and submit your feedback directly to Mozilla.

"You're singing to the choir" by posting such garbage here. We're all Firefox users here (especially on the weekend), we don't work for Mozilla. Drivel such as yours detracts from this forum and causes those of us who do try to help other Firefox users question why we "waste our time" with wastrel's who continually harass the support contributors here. We can't alter the path that Mozilla is taking with Firefox! Cope with the changes as we do, or just go away quietly; use any browser that you find better for your purposes.

LOVE Firefox and the community, but I seem to be missing key points (or threads?) I'll gladly accept suggestions as to how to keep-up better.

(Thinking... I'll admit a bias toward an environment that had users, developers and managers "in the same room," so very possibly my expectations are out of sync - my bad, and I apologize!!!)
