Hi David, if you compare the URL of the "results" page in each case, what difference(s) do you see? For example:

almonds

• Address bar: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=almonds&t=ffab => changes to https://duckduckgo.com/?q=almonds&t=ffab&ia=shopping

• Context: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=almonds&t=ffcm => changes to https://duckduckgo.com/?q=almonds&t=ffcm&ia=shopping

The t= part is a signal from Firefox about where the search was triggered from, when you use the built-in DDG search engine plugin.

I don't get any of that. Whether it's the right-click search or the address bar search, both results just display https://duckduckgo.com/html/ in the address bar.

Hi David, the built-in DDG search shouldn't use that URL. Could you check the Default search engine selector to see whether the built-in one is an option. This article will get you to that part of the Options page:

Also, could I suggest removing that Wikipedia Easy Search extension, which uses very intrusive permisions, and replacing it with an extension that doesn't have access to all of your browsing?
