I downloaded a english dictionary for spellcheck but I cant select it.
I downloaded a english dictionary for spellcheck, but when I right click the text to change the language, it only shows Dutch (my native language) even though I already downloaded the english dictionary. If my English is bad in this message, its because of that.

You can use "Options/Preferences -> General -> Language and Appearance -> Language" if you need to change the language for the user interface, so there is usually no need to access the Add-ond website directly.
To install dictionaries you would normally use "Add Dictionaries" in the Language menu in the right-click context menu of a text area like "Post a Reply" on this forum. You can see two columns on the Dictionaries and Languages Page. It looks weird to me that the page title first mentions Dictionaries, but that language packs is the first column and dictionaries the second column.
On the about:addons page both have their own entry (Dictionaries and Languages) in the left selection panel when you have installed one of these.

Hi, assuming it was a dictionary and not a language pack, try restarting Firefox. Also make sure that it is in: 3-bar menu > Add-ons > Dictionaries. More - How do I use the Firefox spell checker?
Apparently I made a mistake and it was a language pack. I downloaded the dictionary so now it works. Dont know what the point is of having two different things for that but whatever. Thanks for the help.

Hello Reluctant Firefox User,
A dictionary and a language pack are two different things :
A dictionary is used for the inline Spellchecker in Firefox.
A language pack is used to change the language of the Firefox interface.
