Hi

You can take a screenshot on any Android device by pressing the "-" volume/zoom button and the power button at the same time. This will take a screenshot that is saved to your pictures.

Hi Seburo, First of all, I am glad you answered, thank you. It was my first post on mozilla.org and I am more than happy to get a first answer this fast!! And sorry if my question was not clear enough. I hoped to make it clear by writing "That is, not only capture what is actually on the screen in the moment, but the entire webpage." Of course, "screenshot" is a total misnomer for such a feature, but people call it like that. Such a "what is or is not on the screen - shot" :) would be more correct to be called "full webpageshot". While on the first glance, such a feature may sound outlandish, it is actually THE single most important feature if one uses scientific webpages on Android and wants to communicate with others about what one sees on a webpage. Imagine for example a huge table of genetic information. One can perfectly well use that on a bigger mobile phone, swiping to the right , left , bottom or back to top as needed. But when making screenshots, one wants to show things of interest in context. Now, one could make a dozen of ordinary screenshot, cut them precisely to match each others borders, and put them together to the whole image of the whole webpage with an image editor.... But this is really not practical

Do you know maybe any better term for this feature than my "screenshot of the whole webpage"? Maybe if I know more terms, then I can find it myself how to do this in firefox beta for android and post the result here for anyone interested in ff beta?

Although it is currently unavailable, I do understand that our developers are looking at saving full pages, although what form it will take and when it is likely to be available is not something I can confirm.

Hi Seburo, thanks! PS: Firefox beta is amazing in that it is the only browser I found for Android that is able to handle wide websites (by its unique feature that one can change viewport width). It was very difficult to find this outstanding feature. It is even suppressed in the ordinary Firefox for Android. So many useful websites, in particular including scientific ones, are not really usable on a mobile screen, and nobody will ever provide a mobile version. The problem is that they render only well on big screens. The providers "solve" the problem by requiring a big screen size. I can circumvent by 1) switching to desktop mode + 2) setting the viewport very wide + 3) not only scroll up and down as users are used to, but also to the left and to the right. I believe that very few people if any know this trick. With this trick you can use almost any complex website on a screen size as provided by a phone.

-- what do you think about making this way of usage more known? I think it could make a lot of people discover firefox beta for android. Firefox is in many ways made for people who think.
