Firefox can no longer play Netflix movies
Firefox can no longer play Netflix movies. Firefox loads the Netflix site. Firefox attempts to play the movie. Then, Firefox can't play the movie. Netflix says "Your browser is no longer supported." This happens every time there is a Firefox update! Do you guys not test your products in development before release? Please fix your product. I tried all your 'help' items.

Websites say that Firefox is outdated or incompatible even though it's the latest version
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-reset-default-user-agent-firefox
You can check out at the browserspy website how websites see you:
http://browserspy.dk/browser.php

That doesn't solve the problem. But thank you for trying to help.
Do you have the privacy.resistFingerprinting = true in about:config?

Everything was working fine until the June 1st release/update.
Everything was working fine until the June 1st release/update.
I was watching a episode @ 22:00gmt+1 then at 22:30gmt+1 i tryed to start next episode and got same error
is it a Netflix or Mozilla issue?
Firefox issue. I logged it as a bug in the Firefox GitHub. So hopefully they will fix it. This has happened to me before with Firefox. I think its an error with how Firefox is handling DRM content from Netflix. DRM mechanism called a Content Decryption Module (CDM). Because my movies start for one second, then I get the error message. You can read about the DRM here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-drm?as=u&utm_source=inproduct
This error happens in both Firefox and Firefox Developer Edition for desktop. Both apps updated on June 1. Both apps now not playing Netflix DRM content.
Ye i also read that users with version 87 could get an issue 1.june Wildvine whould get an update on same date. And that Netflix is not allowing the use of the wildvine that comes with 87.
i updated to 89 but still same issue, not sure about wildvine version though
Firefox had this same issue with Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight in the past. Now it has the same issue with Google Wildvine.
The irony of watching Netflix in Chrome right now while I'm trying to problem-solve Netflix in Firefox. The struggle is real.
Make sure you have updated to Widevine 4.10.2209.1 and aren't using Widevine 4.10.1582.2
You may have to update to Firefox 78.11.0.
Try to toggle DRM off/on to see if that makes Firefox (re)load DRM components.
- Options/Preferences -> General: Play DRM
Maybe this is Googles way of getting Firefox folks onto Chrome. lol
I'm running Firefox 78.11.0. Tried toggling on/off 'Play DRM Content' with Widevine 4.10.2209.1.
Firefox is not giving me a yellow message bar in my browser window: "Firefox is installing components needed to play audio or video on this page. Please try again later."
Netflix support just provided me with this: https://help.netflix.com/en/node/23742
^: that article is largely outdated and doesn't apply to the current situation.
You can check the Browser Console for XHR messages about GMP that should appear shortly if you toggle DRM off/on in Preferences.
Netflix in Firefox still not working. Netflix is working in all other browsers.
Configuration is at: Firefox 78.11.0 and Widevine 4.10.2209.1
Here are the release notes for the update that broke my Netflix: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/78.11.0/releasenotes/?utm_source=firefox-browser&utm_medium=firefox-browser&utm_campaign=whatsnew
