How do I increase the font size of the content in the Firefox browser? The older we get, the harder it is to see that teeny tiny type. Thanks!

I want to be able to increase the font size in my Firefox browser, or to be able to zoom in to make it bigger. It's difficult for me to read the small type that is coming up by default. How can I do this? I have worked with Firefox on LINUX, and if I remember correctly, I was able to set the font size for my browser. I am looking for a way to do the same thing in Firefox for Windows. Thank you.

If you press (CTRL) and (+) one time then you magnify all window 1 time, two times then you magnify all window 2 times, (CTRL) and (-) and you can do the opposite.

check and this one too:

TOOLS then OPTIONS then CONTENT then in FONT &COLORS session change the DEFAULT FONT SIZE in a bigger one. Don't forget to click OK to save changes.

thank you

Not related to your question, but...

You need to update some plug-ins:

Thank you so much ideato and SafeBrowser for your quick responses. I can't even tell you how much this will save me in eye strain and poor posture from leaning close to the screen!!

The preferred way is to use one of the extensions that SafeBrowser posted above.

If you increase the minimum font size then you may encounter problems with text overlapping on pages that position content absolutely.

Thank you Cor-el. I will follow your advice. I'm glad you warned me about this.

Hi ideato,

I'm sorry, i should have mentioned that i know about CTRL+ and using the FONT&COLOR session. In de Font&color option some lines from the webpage disappear.

I,m looking for a permanent solution.

Thanks.

Use one of the extensions mentioned above. That should work.

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.

not helpful. What ever happened to ADA Accessibility help here. Need to figure out a way to boycott or report Firefox. The size of print is ridiculous and simply pressing zoom print size for each page is DUMB, tedious and not workable.

You can open the Properties of the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties), go to the Compatibilities tab and put a mark before "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" to see if that has effect.

Adjust the String pref layout.css.devPixelsPerPx and increase the value in 0.1 or 0.05 steps from 1.0 to 2.0 or decrease the value from 1.0 to 0.1 on the about:config page.
