Whats up with the disappearing support for Moto Droid?
I just received a replacement Moto Droid today (a warranty swap for a broken unit) and I cannot install Firefox for Android. I get a "Your device is not compatible with this item." response. And sure enough, the Moto Droid is not on the supported list. What happened recently that the Moto Droid is relegated to the "incompatable" list? I had it installed on my previous Moto Droid!
Hmmm...

The Motorola Droid has a low amount of system RAM that can cause system instability. If you really want to try it for your phone you can follow the FTP link at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android.
With the direct install you will need to install updates every 6 weeks to get new versions, security and stability fixes
Is it going to be a new policy of dropping support for older devices that used to be supported?
Perhaps a stripped down "lite" or dare I say "faster using less resources" version should be created that doesn't have all of the bloat features like sync, add-ons, extensions, themes, languages, personas, tools, etc. Whoa, let me catch my breath!
Just a browser for people that want to "browse". A lot of people don't need all of that "stuff".
We removed support for the Droid before Firefox mobile 4 was launched. If you installed Firefox before that time then you were upgraded as a legacy so that you did not have an insecure browser.
Its not only Motorola Droid. My Samsung GT-B7510 is also affected.
The Samsung GT-B7510 is not excluded because of RAM. It is excluded because it has an older processor that is incompatible with Firefox Mobile.
