my computer has java 1.6- update 26 installed. How do I get Mozilla to recognize this and use it (NOT UPDATE 29) with java applets in webpages.
Needed for a work related website that WILL NOT WORK with the latest update 29 run time environment. When I try to "test java" on there website it is as if I don't have java installed in Mozilla but the only option they give is update 29. Going through Windows Control Panel to either Java Console or "Programs and Features" if 4SURE have update 26 installed just need to get Mozilla plug in to use it. Thank you for your help!

Is Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U 26 enabled?
Ir should not be greyed-out, and when you click on it there should be a Disable button to the right side of that dialog window. If that button says Enable, it is now disabled - click that button.
No, what I see when Tools>Add-ons->Plugins is only "Java Deployment Toolkit 6.0.260.3 NPRuntime Script Plug-in..." which is blue/not greyed out and the button is to Disable it. Right now, no other Java related plugins. Before I had a second one, don't remember the exact name but it was "6 U 29" that I worked to get rid of (hidding a .dll file in a directory). So from Mozilla's point of view I don't have a real Java runtime plugin installed (I believe) which one would normally cure by going to Java's website and get the latest plugin installed which is only U29 which I've tried and doesnt work for me. I have created an account with Oracle/Java which inabled me to download "jre-6u26-windows-x64.exe which installed fine with no errors for Windows, but Mozilla isn't seeing/using it. The errors I got from the applet noted that it needed release 1.6-26 specifically. Would have been a nice piece of info to have known before I let Java Update itself which I will NEVER let it do again. Thanks again for any help!
