Do you mean the Skype website, or a Skype add-on? In the past, there have been some problems with the add-on that connects phone numbers in web pages to Skype. But I don't recall hearing about any problems with using the Skype website.

If no one here reports their own experience with the add-on (I do not use it), you could check Skype's site, and do a forum search here and there.

I enjoyed Skype with Firefox on my PC using Win 7. I am now using Win 8 on a different PC. I am unable to get Skype activated again. How can I tell if the access to Skype app is being prevented by the McAfee security firewall on my PC or by my Mozilla settings? How do I change firewall setting to allow Skype to be accessed?

Hi 123kat, are you starting up Skype outside of Firefox? In that case, it probably is not communicating through Firefox but directly to the internet.

The general strategy is as follows, but I haven't ever tested with McAfee: In your firewall, try deleting any existing rules for Skype, then start Skype again and see whether your firewall prompts you to allow it.
