Firefox does not show up in OS X Notification Center
I am running Firefox on OS X. I have recently upgraded my system from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and was looking forward to Firefox supporting the OS X Notification Center (which has been an official feature since FF 17). However, Firefox does not even show up in the Notification Center settings, nor does it post notifications there. Instead, it uses its very own notification popups that were introduced when Growl support was discontinued.
Accordingly, the question is: How do I make Firefox support the OS X Notification Center?
PS: When I upgraded my OS, I still had Growl installed, so this might have something to do with the issue. However, I completely removed it after upgrading (as far as I can tell).

Open System Preferences, select the Notifications preference pane at the top right, and disable it there. Option+Click the Notification Center menu bar icon, it will turn grey when disabled To re-enable Notifications, just option+click the menu bar icon again. It will turn black to signify that it’s active again.
If you’re less of a keyboard fan and more of a gestures person, you can also hush notifications directly from the panel itself.
Thanks for your quick answer! Unfortunately, it doesn't quite work for me =/
I do want Firefox to post notifications on the Notification Center. The problem: Firefox is not even on the list in the preference pane.
So, Firefox keeps on posting its own pop-ups instead of using the Notification Center. I just want to know why and how to make Firefox post to the Notification Center.
