How do I make Firefox stop deleting flash data stored in cache?

I like to play online flash games (like those found on sites like kongregate.com) to pass the time, but most all of the games save the game data to the browser cache. My problem is that when I do this and then close Firefox for any lengthy period of time, it deletes all my saved data from the cache.

Where this gets strange for me is that I only have this problem on my laptop. On my desktop, it has never deleted anything. All my FF settings are the same on both PCs and all my Norton settings are the same on both PCs (I tell it to not do anything with FF temp files or history). I have compared the settings over and over again and they are identical. I have the history set to "Always remember history" and defaults on cache management (though I have tried to override the cache limit on the laptop and increase it to 1024 MB with the same results).

FF remembers my passwords and other site information just fine, it's only the flash game data that gets deleted on the laptop.

Please let me know if you've got any ideas... It's real frustrating to spend a little time on a game only to have to start over every time you close your browser for a few hours to get real work done...

It is also possible that this data is stored in Flash local storage or as a Firefox cookie, so make sure that you allow this.

You can inspect and manage the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab via these steps:

  • Click the "Site Identity Button" (globe/padlock) on the location bar
  • Click "More Information" to open "Tools > Page Info" with the Security tab selected
  • Go to the Permissions tab (Tools > Page Info > Permissions) to check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab

I am sure it is saved as a Firefox cookie and I have granted all permissions and told all programs to not erase cookies, yet the problem persists.
