plug in checker says i need to update flashplayer. I can download the update and start installing it when it gets to about 50% it asks me to close my browser, which I close foxfire and click the continue button. But it insists that foxfire isn't closed and will not continue the installation. what can I do to get the latest version of flash player installed?

The Firefox process was probably "hung" - check the Processes tab in the Task Manager to verify that Firefox is completely closed when that happens.

The best thing to do is to close Firefox before you start the Flash installation procedure, as Adobe tells you to do - their requirement, not Firefox.

Thank you for your suggestions. I did try having foxfire shut down before the installation started, but that did not seem to change the problem I was having, but did not know that I should check the task manager to make sure it was completely shut down, but will keep that in mind next time that happens (if it does). Many thanks!!!
