Hey Sometimes the problem remain in the browser after installing the flash. You can do one thing go to tools|add-ons|plugin

check there is your flash up to date. If its there then check for the activation option check always activated option to prevent this problem in future.

And still the problem remains do tell us.

Thanks for the answer. Is there a difference between Adobe and the plugin? And is it safe to check update from the Tools as you suggested? Thanks so much,

Hi, the Plugin is called Adobe Shockwave Flash. The latest is 18.0.0.203 and you may still be getting the message because you haven't restarted Firefox.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

Scribe, thank you, This is what I have.

"You have version 18,0,0,203 installed" And I installed it a couple of weeks ago and all was OK. So I do not know why I am getting this message. Is it OK to ignore?

more options

18.0.0.203 can't be the version you installed weeks ago because Adobe released 18.0.0.203 just a few days ago.

You received an automatic update from Adobe. You should restart Firefox if you received the update while Firefox was running.

Hi, I am back. I am getting the same message. When I look on Tools, etc. I get this message,

Add-ons for Firefox Blocklist Flash Player Plugin 18.0.0.203 (click-to...

Flash Player Plugin 18.0.0.203 (click-to-play) has been blocked for your protection.

What do I do please.

All versions of the Flash plugin have been disabled (Ask to Activate) by Mozilla because of a disclosed security vulnerability in the plugin that Adobe needs to address via a security update.

  • bug 1182751 - (CVE-2015-5122) Blocklist vulnerable versions of Flash Player plugin (18.0.0.203 and lower)

Sorry for the inconvenience. If you are not accustomed to using the "Ask to Activate" feature for a plugin, here's what to expect:

When you visit a site that wants to use the Flash, you should see a notification icon in the address bar and one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an infobar sliding down between the toolbar area and the page.

If you see a good reason to use Flash, and the site looks trustworthy, you can go ahead and click the Lego-like icon in the address bar to allow Flash.

But the page might be using Flash only for tracking or playing a video ad. If you don't see an immediate need for Flash, feel free to ignore the notification, it will just sit there in case you want it later.

Adobe has released a new version of Flash, 18.0.0.209.

Note: you should exit Firefox before starting the Flash installer.
