firefox appears too large, it has no header and covers my task bar and I have to reboot the computer to get away from it. What has happened? I have Win 10.
Hi,
I have a Dell inspiron with a 32" monitor. Windows 10 OS.
Was viewing a video on facebook in full screen mode. It froze and had a loud bass humming sound. I had to reboot, could NOT 'exit' back to facebook page to leave that video. After powering back up, I opened firefox to go to facebook and discovered that I had zoomed in on firefox some way and I no longer can see my bottom task bar nor the header bar, nor either side of firefox. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO ME ANYWHERE ELSE ON MY COMPUTER. I can use Microsoft Edge browser and facebook is normal, works fine. Can use my Mozilla Thunderbird and it is fine. But every single time I open Firefox, it is simply too large for my screen as described above. Uninstalled and re-installed firefox and was no help at all. Still doing the very same thing now so I uninstalled it again. I love firefox and never use any other browser.
Anyone out there ever see this before?

Never did figure out what that corrupt file Fred Mcd was talking about was, but I followed your link, Fred. And in stumbling around in mozilla help I did find the part about refreshing firefox and that did it. It actually sent me a 'wizard' that did the work when I clicked 'finish'
So Firefox is working again and my thanks to Cor-el and to FredMcD
The trouble hit when I was viewing a video on facebook in full screen mode. It froze and gave a loud continuous hum and I had to reboot. Trouble then appeared on Firefox. How weird is that? But as I say, it is OK now.
Again my thanks to the two of you.

You may have a corrupt xulstore.json file. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/changes-toolbars-and-window-sizes-are-not-saved
You may have zoomed web page(s) by accident. Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.
- View > Zoom > Reset (Ctrl/Command+0 (zero))
Check that you do not run Firefox in compatibility mode or with reduced screen resolution. You can open the Properties of the Firefox desktop shortcut via the right-click context menu and check the "Compatibility" tab. Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
All that the 'control zero (0) did was to reduce the text and logo size. Did not fix it.
However I fixed it via REFRESH button I stumbled onto in a text in mozilla support. Grateful for responses I did get. Thank you one and all.
