When I'm scrolling down using 2 fingers on my macbook trackpad, firefox suddenly jumps one page backwards.

I realize that if you use 2 fingers to swipe towards the left, firefox will go back one page, but I'm definitely using my fingers to scroll vertically. It's just way too sensitive and happening way too often. This doesn't happen with any other browser or app on my computer.

My firefox version is the most up to date one. I don't want to disable the page-backwards swipe feature, as it's handy when I actually want to swipe back.

Hello,

I am sorry to hear you are having an issue. I did some basic research and came across suggestions to check some of the configuration settings (some users reported issues after upgrading to OS X Mavericks) https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/scrolling-issue-firefox-os-x-mavericks. You could re-map these control or try the "Reset" command to ensure that these settings are normal.

Has this always been an issue? Or did it present after an update/change?

You may also be able to adjust the sensitivity of the trackpad through the trackpad control settings.

Please let us know.

Hi Jim, thanks for your response.

I did as the instructions said, which I am sure will have solved my problem because I can now no longer swipe left or right. But that's the thing, I do like that feature, I just don't like the problem I was having with it.

I've had Firefox installed for a long time, but i didn't use it often, so I don't know if there were problems. I switched recently from Safari to Firefox because Safari was annoying me. I upgraded recently to El Capitan, so I don't know if that initiated the swiping problem.

Before I disabled the swiping, I also noticed that clicking was also really sensitive and that I would unintentionally click things quite often. And sometimes, after exiting whatever I accidentally clicked, such as a floating photo viewing window, that window would randomly pop up again a few times after. Just seems like the browser is buggy and/or laggy.

I don't want to change my general trackpad settings because they work well outside of Firefox.
