in Options, do you have this?

In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes".

  • do not clear the Browsing History
  • clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exception for password and other website specific data
  • clearing "Cookies" will remove all selected cookies including cookies with an "Allow" exception you may want to keep

the restore session option doesn't appear in the menu.

Could you also check the classic top menu bar. Tap the Alt key or F10 key to activate it, then History > Restore Previous Session.

If it's grayed out, either Firefox did an automatic restoration or it was unable to restore the session history file.

If Firefox did a restoration, you can check the "Recently Closed Windows" list on the History menu for closed windows you can re-open.

Within each restored window, you can check the "Recently Closed Tabs" list on the History menu for closed tabs you can re-open.
