I need to completely remove Thunderbird from my Mac since it keeps showing me folders that are no longer on our IMAP server. Im assuming these are cached locally on the Mac. They show as light grey within Thunderbird (real folders are black). I've tried trashing the application but as soon as I reinstall, all of my data is still there. I've also tried removing the account from within Thunderbird and ticking the box to remove messages also ...as soon as I add the account back the phantom grey folders reappear. Where are the Thunderbird files stored on a Mac 10.13.3 please...the documention states there is a Thunderbird folder under the library folder but there isnt on my install?

Your profile is hidden.

I don't use Mac stuff but I have heard that revealing hidden items is non trivial for you.

However, Help|Troubleshooting Information shows a button that takes you to your profile. Clicking this will, on a Windows or Linux PC, open the profile in the default file manager. I would hope it would do the same for you.
