How do I block specific websites from popping up? Specifically, I want to prevent www.islands.com and www.360Daily.com from popping up during my Firefox use.

As those two sites you mention are not malicious (which I first suspected), maybe you'd like to give this add-on a try :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/blocksite/

I wonder though, how do thse sites keep 'popping up' - do you get redirected  ?
