when I look at the english dictionary downloads, they say they are not compatible with my version of thunderball. this started to happen about a month ago. I have downloaded the dictionary several times.Thunderbird sees it but wont use it.

basically you must make sure that you have the latest version of thunderbird - ie 60.5.1 You find this from going to the Help function on the menu and look for 'About Mozilla Thunderbird' . If you are not up to date - that box will give you the option to update. Then Thunderbird needs to close and reopen. If the UK dictionary is not there - go to tools, then options and select the English dictionary and download it. you may need to start Thunderbird again Good Luck
