Thunderbird spell check does not catch duplicate words

Every spell check program I've ever used will catch any instances of two words repeated consecutively (example, "to to..." when it should be "you to..." or "that that...". I just sent out an e-mail that had two words accidentally typed twice and Thunderbird did not catch it.

This is a standard feature of EVERY spell checker. Why doesn't Thunderbird check for this kind of mistake??

That would require a syntax checker, which Thunderbird does not have.

But a good idea
