I have recently received emails with attachments that have been sent from iPhones. Whilst the text has arrived there is no sign of the attachments. Both senders tried again using PCs and that works OK.

Is it me of Thunderbird? [Windows 7 Pro and TB 78.6.1 (32-bit)]

It's probably the mail app on the iPhone that is not encoding attachments correctly. You could try adding All Body Parts to the View/Message Body As menu, and see if the attachments are displayed. Options/General/Indexing/Config. editor, double-click mailnews.display.show_all_body_parts_menu to true.
