Using the Google search engine when I click a link in a result I increasingly end up at an unrelated and sometimes totally random website! For example a lot of the time I end up at www.kdirectory.co.uk. Other times I end up on youtube? Bizarre and increasingly annoying.

You may have an infected system. To scan for malware, install, update and run these programs in this order. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in their "free mode", but the features you'll miss are not really needed to find and remove the problem you have. Remember that not all programs detect the same malware!

If these don't find it or can't clear it, please tell me and I'll provide you with further assistance.

I have the same problem on 2 sererate laptops. Both were reformatted and yet the problem remains. Installed AVG 11 and it's showing no problems

Any joy on sorting this?

We have had this problem on every computer in the house (thats about 6 or 7) sometimes this is on the first connection to the internet after they have been formatted. further more I use Linux and still get the problem. The only way I can stop this in Firefox is disabling JavaScript or using this: http://www.mediafire.com/?a2ro2aid3hjl0cm once it's unzipped just run home.html with Firefox and browse within the window created.
