You can right-click and delete, select and use "Del" key, or to delete multiple bookmark click to the left of the favicon, then add more with "Ctrl+click", or extend with "Shift+click" then delete. As mentioned in the sorting bookmark article you can display and sort on additional columns, I would recommend installing the "Show Parent Folder" extension the link is in the bookmark article, unfortunately the column for that that you can add is not sortable but it does provide valuable information.
