As of today I cannot view any Youtube or Vimeo video. On Youtube I get a 'an error occurred' message. On Vimeo, it shows one frame of the video and then just a white screen. If I play the videos on Chrome or Internet Explorer all is OK.

I have not installed anything new to my system and starting Firefox in safe mode or deleting cookies and history changes nothing.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

I restored my system to a point about 5 days ago and, so far, everything seems to be OK, Very odd indeed - the only thing installed was a Windows critical update. I'll see how this goes. Thanks for the advise.

I've tried the setting up of a new profile, disabling addons, etc. but still can't get this to work. I also uninstalled and reinstalled flash player and updated jave RE

I have this exact problem and just like sabbarin I've tried creating a new profile, disabled add ons, reinstalled flash, reinstalled firefox. Nothing worked. Back to explorer I suppose (where youtube and vimeo are working fine).

I have the same problem, but I have found that if I execute my FF (14.0.1 with Flash 11.3.300.268) AS ADMINISTRATOR (right click over the direct access or wherever you click to execute as usual) then I can see the videos again. ¿Does it help to any to help to us?
