Website worked fine, but since update some mouse over images no longer work. However site works fine in IE & Chrome.
Firstly the website in question was working fine until the last firefox update.
I have checked the website on several different devices using different browsers & firefox is the only one that im having trouble with.
The website is for a small hand made clothing website. The products are split into 4 categories:
- Dressware
- Knitware
- Accessories
- Attic
On the category pages there are several thumbnail images for the products located on the left hand side of the page. On the right hand side of the page is one large default image.
The page is set up so that when the user mouse overs a thumbnail image the large default image, on the right hand side of the page, will change to display a larger version of the thumbnail.
At the moment this is very temperamental. Sometimes the default image will be there once the page loads. But once you mouse over a thumbnail image, the default image will disappear.
This appears to be random, there doesn't seem to be a specific thumbnail image that trigers the loss of the default image.
Sometimes the thumbnail images also disappear at random. Again there doesn't seem to be specific images that disappear. Images that I had trouble with yesterday have returned today....
When the user clicks on a thumbnail image it takes them through to the actual product page. Product page setup is the same as the individual category pages, series of thumbnails with main default image.
The above mentioned problems also feature on these product pages. Again seemingly randomly.
The site looks fine within IE & Chrome & worked fine within Firefox. I have only begun to change the site since the problem was brought to my attention. For this reason im sure the problem lies with Firefox.
Any help on identifying the problem would be fantastic.

Which Firefox update?
Doesn't work in Firefox 9.0.1 or Firefox 3.6.28 either.
When I updated to the current version, 13.0.1
Try to disable hardware acceleration and check it again :
from Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: UNCHECK "Use hardware acceleration when available"
thank you
No problem here with the mouse over and restoring the default image. Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I notice that you have two body tags and the the last image (gfx/rope.jpg) is missing and gives a 404 error.
- Firefox > Web Developer > Page Source
- Tools > Web Developer > Page Source (Ctrl+U)
- Right-click on a web page to open the context menu and select View Page Source
<body> <body onload="MM_preloadImages('gfx/hat-default.jpg','gfx/decoration-default.jpg','gfx/mitts-default.jpg','gfx/dsgmitts-default.jpg','gfx/dsgscarf-default.jpg','gfx/beret-default.jpg','gfx/necklace-default.jpg','gfx/rope.jpg')">
Thanks for the suggestion ideato, however it hasn't fixed the problem.
The problem is happening on a number of different devices, not just mine.
Are you using HTTP pipelining?
You can check the network.http.* prefs on the about:config page and reset all bold user set network.http prefs to the default value via the right-click context menu -> Reset.

I have removed the rope.jpg code as the image isn't used on this page.
Checked the theme and it was already set to default.
I have also tried running Firefox within safe mode and still the problem persists.
Thanks for the suggestions though.
I found this page while looking to solve the same (or similar) issue. It was happening to me on google's search results page. Images inside the "shopping" box would disappear upon mouseover, and so would the hyperlink with it's own mouseover.
Ad Blocker Plus was my problem. I turned it off for google.com, problem solved. I can't explain it, but it stands to reason ABP was identifying it as some sort of advertising.
May or may not be related to your issue. Good luck.
