Periodically, including right now, Firefox displays the Google search navigation tree horizontally verses the usual vertical layout/display. I've noticed it tends to be after a computer restart, and obviously isn't always an issue.

The horizontal navigation limits display options particularly in Google images compared to the vertical.

Thanks for the information on Google. I was not aware of this.

Somewhere in the clearing of everything, this issue was resolved. Silly me. I know to clear the cookies and cache when webpage display issues pop-up. Thanks for the reminder!

Notice the block boxes for the two attached files showing the way the navigation tree displays in Firefox 17 Beta verses IE. The IE display is the norm for me even with Firefox.

What is going on?

Is there some way I can correct this?

hello BFHG - i'm not sure if it applies in your case, but from time to time google enables changes in the user interface for some of its users in order to test new designs and gather comparative data. http://googlesystem.blogspot.co.at/2012/08/googles-sidebar-less-search-experiments.html

you could try to clear the cache & cookies from google.com and reload the page.
