Maybe i wasn't clear enough. I want the downloads window to open in the new tab when i click on show all downloads in the new downloads arrow.

i think this is not possible, see if is useful to create a bookmark on the Bookmarks Toolbar and set the location to about:downloads.

see if the next add-on is for you : Downloads in Tab add-on

There is setting in the bookmarks to make them open in sidebar always, i wanted to know if there is a setting to make them open in new tab always, individually of course.

from context menu (right click), you know that already

thanks again

You can only open the about:downloads page in a tab via the "Show All Downloads" link when you are in Private Browsing mode. Otherwise you need to use a bookmark or open the page otherwise (see about:about)

thanks a lot for your clarifications. I have done the bookmark thing and i am happy with the sidebar downloads.

I didn't know about private browing showing tabs for downloads. That's where i saw that.

Thanks again. Regards.

Is there a way to get the Download Tab behaviour from Private Browsing the default during normal sessions?

The 'Downloads in Tab' add-on stopped working a long time ago (during 2011). It only works if it's set to automatically open when a download starts. If you click 'Show All Downloads' you get the default window...

You can create a bookmark to open the about:downloads page in a tab (middle-click) or a window (Shift and left-click) or use a bookmark with a keyword (ad) and use that instead.
