Todays upgrade to v22.0 has disabled extension *Print pages to PDF 0.1.9.0* ie "PDF-XChange Viewer v2.5" (build 210.0 Feb 25 2013; 15:34:29)

Disaster !

Found Install an older version of Firefox which offers several options. Is Firefox 21 (US English) the most up-to-date of v21? Or should I be making a choice in v21.0 -> 21.0B1 -> WIN32/ -> en-US/ which offers "Firefox Setup 21.0b7.exe" and "Firefox Setup Stub 21.0b7.exe"

Edit: fixed links as this forum does not use bbcode.

Which one ?

How do I then "attach" PDF-XChange Viewer to the Firefox context menu (to create a PDF file of web pages)

Thank you

21.0b7 is the last Beta test build for the 21.0 release. Also if you were to use this Beta build you would then be on the Beta test channel instead of Release channel and get Beta build updates. It is best to try to use the current release instead of potentially being vulnerable due to using a older version. http://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html

(1) Print pages to PDF

There's a hidden update available: If you want to try version 0.1.9.2 before Mozilla completes its review, it's available on the "versions" page: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/print-pages-to-pdf/versions/

It's working for me.

(2) PDF-XChange Viewer

Their site says they released an update on June 19th. Do you have that one? http://www.tracker-software.com/product/pdf-xchange-viewer

I don't have any personal experience with this software.

P.S. The link syntax on this site is different than BBCode, as you can see, but hopefully we won't need to figure out what those links are.

Thank you "James" for cleaning up my messy post :D

Where might I find coding help for Mozilla forum.

It is the only forum I have struck that does not use BBCode

I hope I wont be needing to downgrade FF to v21 now that I have "jscher2000" tip to https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/print-pages-to-pdf/versions/ -- for PDF-XChange Viewer

Thanks again for your help

Just FYI other plugins are failing on version 22 without a warning on upgrade too, such as PlainOldFavorites. Looks like something changed (maybe related to the dpi scaling in 22?) and this has potentially broken some plugins.

At least downgrading to 21 is pretty painless, even if you have to put up with the usual sanctimonious comments here saying you should never do it.

Hi xtcrefugee, you wrote:

There are dozens of changes that affect add-ons and web pages in each release. I don't think display scaling is the main issue in those cases.

The word "sanctimonious" implies that we're discussing moral codes. Actually, we're just discussing computer codes, more specifically, code flaws that create security vulnerabilities. You can review those on the security flaws page.

The odds of any individual being exploited are low, assuming they have good real time antivirus and practice safe computing, but we want users to be aware that the possibility is there. Losing everything on your PC, or having your data extracted by others, or having your PC taken over and used by others, may be bigger problems for some individuals than large fonts or having to install a new extension to tweak them.

Hi grayghost2, the syntax here is similar to Wikipedia. Although it's probably not comprehensive, check out this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/markup-cheat-sheet

jscher2000, I don't want this to get off track, but I'll stick with my word thank you very much. This forum is littered with posts by people asking how to downgrade, or why Firefox is suddenly acting in a way it never has before because of one "upgrade" or another. The response from Mozilla (and others) is always "live with it" or words to that effect, instead of addressing the issue or answering the question.

Thanks "jscher2000" for the link to Wiki "codes" :)
