I can get rid of this very annoying moving ad box by disabling all java on a given web page but that makes many pages unusable. The ad sits in the lower left hand corner of my web page and appears to be transparent on the screen except for a heavy black border. I asked my sys admin to find a solution and the java script block was his suggestion but, as I said that makes other problems.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
