when I go to a web site I know to be safe I still get the message "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirection to another page" I clock on allow and it gives me access, but, the "allow" is always there.

The feature to stop redirects and ask your permission isn't very useful. If you find it more of a hindrance than a help, you can turn it off.

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page"

(I don't think there is any way to save permission to redirect for a specific site.)
