hello , google opens a new window but i want it in the active tab from google. but i still want to have site's like fb to open the link in a other tab . i had it before , ie has it 2 but i don't want to switch back. i already checked the settings at google and that setting is off and still opens a new tab .

Do you mean the search plugin opens the search engine in a new tab? Opening a window in a tab does not make sense. I believe this setting in about:config should use the same tab rather than a new one.
