why do my tabs open in sidebar

I clicked on opening my bookmarks in sidebar and now when I start up, the side bar is open with the last 2 tabs open, one of them takes up most of the screen and the other takes up 1/3 of screen

Do you mean you were viewing your list of bookmarks in the sidebar (Ctrl+b opens and closes the Bookmarks Sidebar), or you checked the box in the properties for a specific bookmark so that it opens in the sidebar?
