Hello,

I use Thunderbird to access my AOL e-mail. Thunderbird has worked fine for months but now when I start Thunderbird I get asked the password for "username@aol.com@imap.aol.com". I enter the password but (of course) Thunderbird tells me my password is not correct (actually, it is the e-mail address that is not valid!).

I haven't changed anything in my e-mail account configuration (which, again, worked for months) and I'm 100% certain my password is correct as I can (fortunately) use it to read my mails on webmail.aol.com

Thanks in advance!

Anne Aubrun.

the messed up address is the account title. you can fix it by selecting the tools menu (alt+T > account settings and clicking on the entry for the account in the list.

You problem however is most likely not that. Try disabling email scanning in your anti virus program and see how that goes.

Thanks for the answer Matt, unfortunately I tried changing the account name (I assumed it is the same as the title) and deactivating the mail shield in my antivirus but the problem is still there. Any other suggestion?

Many thanks in advance

Anne.
