The programme just stalls when it is trying to save my sent mail and I have to respond to an error message and tell it not to save the message. However it seems to have saved it correctly in the sent mail folder.

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.

If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You should seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

Thanks for correcting me...I meant Thunderbird.. I have no idea why I said Firefox. Another problem that I am having with Thunderbird is that when I shut it down it sometimes continues to run and I have to kill it by using Task Manager or shutting down the computer. I don't know whether this is connected to the first problem Thanks for your prompt reply
