In a prior installation of TB, I had one single trash can. Now I have one for every email account. Can I go back to a single trash can?

My Win 7 HDD crashed so I decided it was time to upgrade to Win 10 and an SSD. Thunderbird in windows 10 looks different. Cluttered. I have several email accounts and formerly there was only one trash can. Now there is one for every email account. Can I consolidate them back into a single trash can?

You were probably using POP and had all your separate accounts sharing common files, such as the Global Inbox.

If you have done a clean install, Thunderbird will have chosen IMAP by default and you will see each account presented separately.

View|Folders|Unified may present a view of your folders closer to what you are accustomed to.

You can probably restore the single shared trash folder, but you'd probably need to switch your accounts to POP. You may be able to set individual folders within each account to use specific locations but fundamentally IMAP doesn't work well with shared folders.

Thanks Zenos. (DOH!) I forgot about the consolidated view - it's been years since I set up thunderbird. That fixed my issue.
